Dear Woodsy Studio fans,
This is the original founder and creator of Woodsy Studio, Jenny Gibbons, giving you some difficult news today. My life partner of 22 years and co-writer of several Woodsy Studio passed away earlier this year, on March 22, 2026. You knew him as Malcolm Pierce; he was also known as John Gibbons.
It has taken me quite some time to be capable of sharing this message with you all online. But I know that many of you knew him through his writing or social media, and you all deserve to know of his passing. It occurred after a falling accident combined with additional health complications.
John was the most wonderful partner I ever could have hoped for in this life. He was smart, funny, kind, and creative. Along with writing a large portion of scripts for several Woodsy Studio games, especially Crimson Spires and miraclr – Divine Dating Sim, he wrote many novels and screenplays, most of which have not yet been published. I am hoping to change that someday. He was a master of both hilarious comedy and heart-wrenching drama.
To honor his memory and help me process my own grief, I am working hard on a new game project that he and I started together over a year ago. The story meant a great deal to him, and is also profoundly relevant to the grief I am now experiencing. I plan to officially announce it soon. Until then, here is a clue.
